The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has officially opened the late-fee registration window for the Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) 2027. This extension provides a final opportunity for prospective candidates who were unable to complete their applications by the initial deadline of November 5.
According to the official notification, the registration portal will remain active for late submissions until November 10, 2026, at 5 PM. IIT Bombay has emphasized that this is the final window for applications and no further extensions will be granted to candidates. Interested individuals can complete the process through the official website at ceed.iitb.ac.in.
Candidates opting to register during this late-fee period are required to pay the standard registration fee plus an additional penalty of INR 500. The regular registration fees are set at INR 2,000 for all women candidates, as well as for candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories. For all other candidates, the standard fee is INR 4,000. All payments must be made online using methods such as UPI, net banking, credit cards, or debit cards, noting that bank processing charges may apply.
To apply, candidates must visit the CEED 2027 portal and register as a new user with a valid email address. Once logged in, applicants are required to provide their personal, academic, and contact information. The application process also involves uploading a recent colour photograph, a scanned signature, and relevant academic documents, including Class X and XII marksheets and degree or diploma certificates. Candidates belonging to specific categories, such as EWS, SC, ST, OBC-NCL, or PwD, must also upload valid certificates issued by the appropriate authorities to support their claims.
After filling in the necessary details and selecting preferred examination cities, candidates must complete the payment of the registration fee and the late fee to finalize their submission. The CEED examination serves as the gateway for admission into Master of Design (M.Des.) and PhD programmes offered at various participating institutions across the country. Applicants are advised to ensure all information is accurate before submission, as the application fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
