The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has officially commenced the registration process for the Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) 2027. Prospective students aiming to secure admission into Master of Design (M.Des) and PhD programmes at participating IITs can now access the application forms through the official examination website.

Candidates are encouraged to complete their registration well in advance to avoid any last-minute technical issues. The application portal is currently active, and all interested applicants must ensure they meet the necessary requirements before submitting their details through the designated online portal at ceedapp.iitb.ac.in/CEED/home.jsp.

Key Registration Dates and Fee Structure

The regular application window for CEED 2027 opened on October 1, 2026, and will remain available until October 31, 2026, at 11:59 PM. Following the conclusion of this period, a late registration window will be provided for those who missed the initial deadline. This late phase will run from November 1, 2026, to November 6, 2026, closing at 5:00 PM. Applicants choosing to register during this extended period will be required to pay an additional late fee of INR 500 on top of the standard application charges.

The application fee is structured based on candidate categories. For women candidates, as well as those belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) categories, the registration fee is set at INR 2,000. All other candidates are required to pay an application fee of INR 4,000.

Examination Schedule and Process

Following the completion of the registration process, the CEED 2027 entrance examination is scheduled to be held on January 17, 2027. The test will be conducted in an offline format at various designated examination centres across the country. The assessment is divided into two sections, Part A and Part B, which evaluate candidates on specific design-related topics.

Candidates are advised to monitor the official website regularly for any further updates regarding the examination process, admit card releases, and specific centre allocations. It is essential for all applicants to review the official notification thoroughly to ensure all documentation and fee payments are processed correctly before the respective deadlines.
