IIT Bombay Opens UCEED 2027 Registration for B.Des Admissions

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has officially commenced the registration process for the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) 2027. Aspiring students looking to secure admission into the Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programme at participating IITs can now access the application forms through the official examination portal.

The registration window is currently open, and candidates are encouraged to review the eligibility criteria thoroughly before initiating their application. The examination serves as a gateway for students aiming to pursue undergraduate design studies at some of the most prestigious technical institutions in the country.

Registration Timeline and Fee Structure

The application process is divided into two distinct phases based on the submission date. Candidates wishing to register with the standard application fee have until October 31, 2026, at 11:59 PM to complete their forms. The official portal for all registrations is uceedapp.iitb.ac.in.

For those who are unable to meet the initial deadline, a secondary window will be available. From November 1, 2026, through November 6, 2026, at 5:00 PM, candidates may still submit their applications, provided they pay an additional late fee of INR 500 in addition to the standard registration charges.

Application Fees and Eligibility

The cost of registration varies based on the candidate's category. For female candidates, as well as those belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) categories, the application fee is set at INR 2,000. All other Indian candidates are required to pay an application fee of INR 4,000.

Prospective applicants are advised to ensure they meet all stipulated requirements before proceeding with the payment and submission process.
