The Consortium of National Law Universities has officially opened the registration window for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2027. Aspiring law students looking to secure admission through this national-level entrance examination can now access the application forms on the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The registration process, which began on August 3, is scheduled to remain open until October 31, providing candidates with a window of over two months to complete their submissions.
Prospective applicants are encouraged to complete their registration well in advance of the closing date to mitigate the risk of encountering technical issues during the final days. The Consortium, which serves as the convening body for the examination, has also indicated that a correction window will be provided at a later date, allowing candidates to amend specific details within their submitted applications. Further updates regarding these correction dates will be published on the official exam portal.
The application process for CLAT 2027 is conducted entirely online and is divided into three primary stages. Initially, candidates must complete the registration phase by providing a valid mobile number and email address. These contact details are verified through a One-Time Password (OTP) system, after which the candidate receives their unique account credentials. Once registered, applicants proceed to the second stage, which involves filling out the comprehensive application form with their personal and academic information.
The final stage of the submission process requires the payment of the prescribed application fee. It is essential for candidates to note that applications will not be considered complete or accepted by the Consortium without the successful payment of these fees. The fee structure is tiered based on the candidate's category. For General, OBC, NRI, PIO, and OCI candidates, the application fee is set at INR 4,000, or INR 4,500 if they choose to include past year question papers. For candidates belonging to SC, ST, BPL, or PwD categories, the fee is INR 3,500, increasing to INR 4,000 with the inclusion of previous years' question papers. Applicants must ensure they select the correct category to avoid potential rejection of their application.
