IIT Delhi Opens Applications for Executive Programme in AI for Healthcare 2026

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has officially opened the application process for its Executive Programme in AI for Healthcare. This specialized six-month course is designed to bridge the gap between advanced technology and medical applications, catering specifically to working professionals who wish to explore the integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning within the healthcare sector.

Offered through the institute's Continuing Education Programme (CEP), this initiative marks the third batch of the course. The programme is structured to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of how AI models and research can be effectively translated into practical, real-world healthcare solutions. Beyond technical implementation, the curriculum also emphasizes the ethical, responsible, and effective use of AI technologies in medical environments.

Programme Details and Eligibility Criteria

The upcoming batch is scheduled to commence on December 12, 2026, with the academic session running through May 30, 2027. Prospective students have until December 9, 2026, to submit their applications. The programme is open to a diverse range of applicants, including healthcare professionals, technology experts, and innovators from both industry and academic backgrounds. Notably, the institute has clarified that a prior medical or technical background is not a mandatory requirement, as the course is designed to introduce fundamental concepts to professionals from various fields.

The learning experience will be delivered entirely online through live weekend sessions. Classes are scheduled to take place on Saturdays from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm and on Sundays from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. This flexible format is intended to accommodate the schedules of working professionals. As part of the curriculum, participants will engage in practical learning exercises and complete a capstone project to demonstrate their grasp of the subject matter.

Fee Structure and Application Process

The total fee for the six-month programme is set at INR 1.50 lakh, exclusive of 18% GST. To assist with financial planning, the institute allows candidates to pay the total amount in two equal installments of INR 75,000 each, plus the applicable GST.
