The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) is set to conclude the online registration process for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2027 today, October 31, 2026. Prospective students aiming to secure a seat in undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes at participating National Law Universities across the country must ensure their applications are submitted before the midnight deadline.
The application portal, accessible at consortiumofnlus.ac.in, will remain open until 11:59 PM. Officials have emphasised that the registration process is only considered complete once the required application fee has been successfully paid. Any forms submitted without the accompanying fee payment will not be processed, potentially rendering the candidate ineligible for the upcoming examination.
To register for the examination, candidates are required to visit the official website and navigate to the dedicated CLAT 2027 section. The process involves creating an account using a valid personal mobile number and email address. Once registered, applicants must log in to provide their personal and academic details, upload the necessary documentation and photographs, and complete the payment through the provided online gateways.
Regarding eligibility for the undergraduate (UG) law programme, candidates must have successfully completed their Class 12 or an equivalent board examination. The Consortium has set specific minimum score requirements: students in the General, OBC, and NRI categories are required to have secured at least 45% marks in their qualifying examination, while candidates belonging to the SC and ST categories must have achieved a minimum of 40%.
The application fee is structured based on the candidate's category. For General, OBC, and other applicable categories, the registration fee is set at INR 4,000. For candidates belonging to the SC, ST, or BPL categories, the fee is reduced to INR 3,500. It is essential for applicants to verify all details before final submission to avoid potential rejection of their application.
Following the conclusion of the registration period, the Consortium of National Law Universities is scheduled to conduct the CLAT 2027 examination on December 6, 2026. The test will be held in an offline, pen-and-paper mode, with the examination window set from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. This entrance test serves as the primary gateway for admission into five-year integrated undergraduate law programmes and postgraduate LLM programmes offered by the participating NLUs.
