COEP Technological University Releases B.Tech Spot Round Provisional Merit List

COEP Technological University has officially released the provisional merit list for the First Year B.Tech ACAP (SPOT) round for the 2026-27 academic session. The release marks a critical stage in the admission process, as thousands of students compete for a limited number of remaining seats at the prestigious Pune-based institution. According to official data, 12,917 candidates have submitted applications for the 137 available vacancies, highlighting the high level of competition for entry into the university's undergraduate engineering programmes.

Following the conclusion of the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) CAP process, the university initiated these spot rounds to fill seats that remained vacant. The provisional list was made available on September 8, with a brief window provided until 11 am on September 9 for candidates to submit grievances regarding any discrepancies. A final merit list, incorporating adjustments from the grievance process, is set to be published by 10 pm on September 9.

Counselling Schedule and Admission Procedure

The admission process for these 137 seats will be conducted through direct, in-person counselling at the COEP Tech Main Auditorium. The university has structured the reporting process based on the candidates' COEP Tech General Merit Numbers. For Maharashtra state candidates, the first stage of counselling is scheduled for September 10, with subsequent stages continuing on September 11. All India candidates, admitted through JEE Main, are scheduled for counselling sessions on September 11 and September 12.

University officials have emphasised that seat allotment is dynamic and depends on the specific vacancies available at the exact time a candidate is called. As seats may be vacated due to cancellations or students opting for better options, the pool of available spots will fluctuate throughout the process. Candidates are required to report physically according to their assigned merit-based slots. Failure to be present when their merit number is called may result in the loss of the opportunity, as the university will proceed to the next candidate in the order of inter-se merit.

Important Requirements for Candidates

To ensure a smooth admission process, all candidates appearing for the counselling sessions must bring their original documents, along with necessary photocopies for verification. Furthermore, the university has mandated that students carry the required admission fees in the form of a Demand Draft. The entire procedure will adhere strictly to the inter-se merit rankings and the established rules set by the Maharashtra CET Cell.

Looking ahead, the university has outlined a schedule for additional spot rounds. Round 2 is slated for September 12 and 13, followed by Round 3 on September 13. Should vacancies persist due to further cancellations or student movements, the university may conduct additional rounds. Students are advised to monitor the official university communications closely for any updates regarding the counselling schedule or changes in seat availability.
