GATE 2027 Announcement: IIT Madras recommends connecting your DigiLocker account prior to registration, essential procedures to follow.

IIT Madras has announced that the application form for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2027 will be available starting August 14, 2026, on the official website gate2027.iitm.ac.in. This update comes alongside the release of the official notification and exam dates for GATE 2027. Notably, the institute has mandated that all candidates must create and link a DigiLocker account prior to registering for the exam.

In preparation for the registration process, candidates are advised to either create a new DigiLocker account or update their existing one. Essential details required for linking the account include the candidate's name, date of birth, mobile number, email address, profile picture, residential address, and a verified ID card number. Ensuring that this information is accurate and up-to-date is crucial for a seamless registration experience.

As part of the GATE application process, candidates will need to upload several documents. These include a recent scanned photograph (taken within the last three months), a scanned signature, a valid ID proof, and, if applicable, a category certificate for PwD or Dyslexic candidates in PDF format. The registration period will close on September 21, 2026, without a late fee, while the final deadline, including a late fee, is set for September 30, 2026.

Additionally, during the registration process, candidates will be required to provide facial details for verification purposes. This step is part of the measures implemented to ensure the integrity of the examination process. The GATE 2027 exam is scheduled to take place over multiple days: February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, and 21, 2027, with two shifts each day.
