The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2027 application scrutiny process is set to conclude today. Candidates who have been notified of defects in their submitted forms are required to complete the rectification process by the end of the day to ensure their applications remain valid for the upcoming examination.
IIT Madras, the organizing institute for this year's examination, has been reviewing applications to verify the accuracy of submitted data and documentation. Those whose application status currently reflects as “Application Defective” or “Under Scrutiny” on the official portal must take immediate action to address the flagged issues. Failure to provide the necessary corrections within this timeframe will result in the formal rejection of the application.
To resolve any issues identified by the zonal authorities, candidates should log in to the official Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) portal at gate2027.iitm.ac.in. Once logged in using their enrollment ID and password, applicants can view their dashboard to identify the specific defects noted by the authorities. The process involves re-uploading the required documents or providing the correct information as specified in the notification.
Common reasons for an application being flagged include unclear or blurry photographs, signatures that do not meet the specified requirements, discrepancies between the provided details and official photo identification, or issues with uploaded category certificates. It is important to note that candidates are not required to pay any additional fees to resolve these specific scrutiny-related defects. Once the documents are re-submitted, candidates should monitor their dashboard to confirm that the status has been updated.
Following the conclusion of the current scrutiny phase, the organizing committee is expected to announce the dates for the GATE 2027 application correction window. Unlike the current scrutiny process, the correction window is a paid facility that allows candidates to request specific modifications to their application, such as changes to their chosen exam city, paper selection, gender, or category.
The GATE 2027 examination is officially scheduled to take place over several days in February 2027, specifically on February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, and 21. Candidates are encouraged to keep a close watch on the official website for further announcements regarding the correction window and subsequent updates leading up to the exam dates.
