The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad has officially concluded the second cluster of its summer placement process for the PGP Class of 2028. Held on October 27, 2026, the recruitment drive was conducted in a hybrid format, allowing firms to engage with students through both in-person and online interactions. The session saw a robust response, with more than 75 distinct roles offered to candidates across a wide spectrum of industries.
This latest phase of the placement cycle highlighted the institute's commitment to diversifying career opportunities for its management students. By expanding the scope of the recruitment drive, IIM Ahmedabad successfully integrated nine industry cohorts, ensuring that students could explore professional pathways ranging from traditional conglomerates to emerging digital and lifestyle sectors.
A notable development in this year's placement cycle was the introduction of two new industry cohorts: fashion and real estate. The fashion sector saw participation from Raymond, while the real estate cohort attracted recruiters such as Eden Landmarks and Experion Developers. These additions reflect the evolving landscape of the management job market and the institute's efforts to align its placement offerings with current industry trends.
The second cluster covered a broad range of sectors, including advertising and media, conglomerates, consumer goods, consumer services, financial platforms, pharmaceuticals, and retail. Major industry players maintained a strong presence throughout the day. The conglomerates cohort featured prominent names such as the Tata Administrative Services, Aditya Birla Group, Mahindra Group, Godrej Group, Vedanta Group, Essar Group, GMR Group, RPSG Group, CKA Birla, and Saint-Gobain. Meanwhile, the consumer goods sector saw high-profile participation from companies like Hindustan Unilever Ltd, Procter & Gamble, Nestlé, ITC, Dabur, and The Coca-Cola Company, alongside newer participants like Dot & Key and Purplle.
Other sectors also reported significant activity. The financial platform and services cohort included recruiters such as Bloomberg, FinIQ, and Indxx. In the retail and e-commerce space, Amazon and Myntra led the hiring efforts, while the advertising and media sector saw participation from JioStar and Endemol Shine. The pharmaceuticals and healthcare cohort featured established firms including Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Medtronic India, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, and FDC Limited.
Following the successful completion of the second cluster, the placement process is set to continue with the third cluster, which is scheduled for October 30, 2026. This ongoing cycle remains a critical component of the academic year for students enrolled in the PGP program at IIM Ahmedabad.
