IIM Indore Sets September 15 Deadline for CAT 2026 Registration

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore has issued a reminder to all prospective candidates that the registration window for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2026 is set to close next week. Applicants have until September 15, 2026, at 5:00 PM IST to submit their applications for the upcoming management entrance examination.

With the deadline approaching, officials are encouraging students to complete the registration process well in advance to avoid potential technical issues or website congestion that often occurs during the final hours of the application window. The examination itself is scheduled to take place on November 29, 2026, and completing the registration is a mandatory requirement for all candidates wishing to participate.

Registration Process and Application Guidelines

The entire application process for CAT 2026 is conducted online through the official portal at iimcat.ac.in. To begin, candidates must navigate to the website and select the new candidate registration link. After providing the necessary personal details and completing the required OTP verification, applicants will receive a User ID and password via email, which will be used to access the application portal.

Once logged in, candidates are required to input their academic history and details regarding any relevant work experience acquired up to July 31, 2026. The application form also requires students to select their preferred IIM programmes and designate their choices for interview cities in order of preference. The final steps involve uploading the necessary documentation, paying the application fee, and submitting the form. Fee Structure and Payment Methods

The application fee for CAT 2026 varies based on the candidate's category. For applicants in the General category, the registration fee is set at INR 2700. Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD) categories are required to pay a reduced fee of INR 1350.

To facilitate the payment process, the examination authorities have enabled multiple digital payment options, including UPI, credit cards, debit cards, and net banking.
