The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow has officially announced the launch of a new two-year MBA programme focused on Family Business. This specialized course is being offered at the institute's Noida campus and is specifically tailored to meet the needs of business owners and the next generation of leaders within family-run enterprises.
A significant highlight of this new offering is the admission criteria, which deviates from the standard selection process used for traditional management courses. Prospective students are not required to have a Common Admission Test (CAT) score to apply for this programme. Instead, the institute has introduced alternative pathways for eligibility, ensuring the selection process remains accessible to those managing or transitioning into family businesses.
To secure a seat in the MBA in Family Business programme, applicants must present a valid score from one of three accepted examinations. Candidates may submit a valid GMAT score, a valid GRE score, or choose to appear for the dedicated entrance examination conducted by IIM Lucknow itself. This flexible approach is designed to accommodate the unique professional backgrounds of applicants who are actively involved in business operations.
The selection process for the programme is structured across three primary stages, which evaluate the candidates' suitability for the curriculum. Interested individuals are encouraged to review the specific academic, educational, and business ownership criteria set forth by the institute before submitting their applications. The institute has established two distinct phases for the application process. The deadline for Phase 1 applications is December 31, 2026, while the window for Phase 2 applications will remain open until April 2, 2027. All applications must be submitted through the official IIM Lucknow website to be considered for the upcoming academic cycle.
