The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur is set to open the registration window for the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2027 on September 12, 2026. Prospective students aiming to secure admission into various postgraduate programmes, including MSc courses, across participating IITs and other affiliated institutions can begin submitting their applications through the official website at jam.iitkgp.ac.in.

This national-level entrance examination serves as a gateway for candidates seeking admission to science and related postgraduate disciplines. The application fee for IIT JAM 2027 is structured based on the candidate's category and the number of test papers selected. For female candidates across all categories, as well as candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories, the fee is set at INR 1,000 for a single test paper and INR 1,350 for two test papers. For all other candidates, the fee is INR 2,000 for one test paper and INR 2,700 for two test papers.

To apply, candidates must visit the official portal at jam.iitkgp.ac.in and follow the registration link to generate their login credentials. Once registered, they can log in to fill out the application form, select their preferred test papers, upload the required photograph and signature, and complete the payment through the available online modes. After reviewing all entered information, candidates should submit the form and download the confirmation page for their records.

The examination is scheduled to be conducted on February 14, 2027, across two sessions. The test will cover seven distinct subjects: Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS), and Physics (PH). Following the application phase, candidates are expected to align their preparation with the official syllabus and exam pattern provided by the conducting body.
