Jamia Millia Islamia Extends Distance Education Admission Deadline to September 8

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has officially extended the application deadline for its distance and online programmes for the 2026-27 academic session. Prospective students now have until September 8, 2026, to submit their applications for the various courses offered through the university’s Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE). This extension follows the previous deadline of August 10, providing an additional window for candidates to complete their registration process.

The university currently offers a diverse portfolio of 49 programmes through its distance learning wing. To further expand its academic offerings, JMI has introduced 11 new certificate and diploma courses for the current session. These additions include language certificate programmes in French, Spanish, Chinese, Persian, Arabic, and Russian, alongside vocational courses in Photography and Video Editing, Anchoring and Broadcast Presentation, and Indian Knowledge Systems. Furthermore, the institution has launched a Diploma in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Media, as well as an Advanced Diploma in Conflict Analysis and Peace Building.

Application Process and Admission Timeline

Interested candidates are required to complete their applications exclusively through the official JMI CDOE portal at jmicoe.in. The registration process begins with the 'New User Registration' tab, where applicants must provide their basic details. Upon submission, an account activation code is sent to the candidate’s registered mobile number or email address. Once the account is activated and a password is created, students can log in to select their desired programme, upload necessary documentation, and pay the required application fees.

Following the conclusion of the application phase, the university will notify shortlisted candidates via email regarding the next steps in the admission process. A mandatory physical document verification and fee submission period is scheduled to take place from September 26 to October 6, 2026. All remaining admission formalities must be finalized by October 10, 2026.

Entrance Examination Updates

In addition to the general admission timeline, Jamia Millia Islamia has revised the schedule for the entrance examinations for B.Ed and MBA programmes offered through the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode. These entrance tests are now slated to be held on September 19, 2026, at the JMI campus. Candidates preparing for these examinations will receive specific details regarding the test, including venue and timing, through their respective admit cards. Students are advised to monitor their registered email accounts and the official university portal for further updates and instructions regarding their specific programmes.
