The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially opened the registration window for the JEE Main 2027 Session 1 examination. Students aspiring to secure admission into premier engineering institutions, including National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), for B.E. and B.Tech programs can now submit their applications through the official portal at jeemain.nta.nic.in.

The application process for the first session officially commenced on October 24, 2026. Candidates are advised to review the eligibility criteria and ensure all required documentation is prepared before initiating the online form submission. For students planning to appear in the first session, the deadline to submit the application form without incurring a late fee is November 22, 2026. It is essential for applicants to complete their registration by this date to avoid any complications. In the event that a candidate misses this initial window, the NTA has provided a grace period for late submissions, which will be open from November 23 to November 26, 2026, subject to the payment of a late fee.

A significant update for the 2027 examination cycle is the integration of the 'Meri Pehchaan' platform for digital identity authentication. As part of the updated application procedure, candidates are required to authenticate their profiles using either DigiLocker or Jan Parichay. This step is mandatory for completing the online registration, and students should ensure they have access to these services to verify their credentials effectively during the form-filling process.
