The long-awaited moment for aspirants of professional courses in Karnataka is finally here, as the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) is set to activate the provisional allotment link for the KCET Round 2. This announcement comes amid strict new exit rules, and the provisional seat allotment results are expected to be released by the end of the day. Originally scheduled for August 19, the release was postponed to align with the revised timeline of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

Sources indicate that the KCET 2026 Round 2 provisional seat allotment could be made available today, following the release of the NEET UG Round 1 allotment results. This timing is intended to provide engineering candidates with sufficient opportunity to rearrange their choices after the mock seat allotment results are published. Once the results are out, candidates will be able to check their allocation status on the official KEA portal at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea.

The initial release date for the KCET Round 2 provisional seat allotment was set for August 19; however, KEA decided to extend the web-option modification window until August 20, prompting the delay. Officials aimed to synchronize the engineering seat lists with the NEET UG All-India Quota (AIQ) Round 1 results, which are managed by the MCC. Since KEA oversees both MBBS and BDS seat allocations alongside state professional courses, the authority has prepared the backend processes and will activate the link once the central medical list is issued.

This academic session has seen a record-breaking 3.3 lakh candidates participating in the KCET, intensifying competition for the 19,374 vacant seats carried over from Round 1. Data from various media sources highlight trends in high-demand branches, with Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) maintaining peak demand. The mock opening ranks for CSE started at 285, with closing ranks trailing to 280,600. Similarly, Information Science and Engineering (ISE) showed highly competitive cutoffs, beginning at an opening rank of 2,820 and finalizing at 279,118.

As the KCET Round 2 provisional seat allotment results are anticipated, candidates are encouraged to stay informed about the latest updates regarding education news, exam results, and admission schedules. The KEA's efforts to streamline the allotment process reflect the growing demand for professional courses in Karnataka, as students navigate their educational paths in an increasingly competitive landscape.
