KCET 2026 Round 3 Counselling: Web Option Entry Deadline Set for Today

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has issued a final reminder to candidates participating in the KCET 2026 Round 3 counselling process. The window for submitting web options is scheduled to close today, September 3, 2026, at 6:00 PM. Students aiming to secure a seat in this round must log in to the official KEA portal and finalize their course and college preferences before the deadline expires.

This phase of the counselling process covers a wide range of undergraduate programmes, including Engineering, Architecture, Agriculture, Veterinary, Pharmacy, BSc Nursing, and various Allied Health Sciences. It is essential for applicants to understand that the system does not carry over preferences from previous rounds. Consequently, all participants are required to log in and submit a fresh set of choices, carefully ordered by their personal priority, to be eligible for the upcoming seat allocation.

Eligibility and Participation Guidelines for Round 3

Participation in this round is open to specific categories of candidates. This includes those who did not receive a seat allocation in the second round, individuals who cancelled their previously allotted seats after paying the required penalty, and students who joined their allotted colleges after Round 2 but are seeking an upgrade to a preferred course or institution. Conversely, candidates who failed to select an option following the second round, or those who opted for 'Choice 4' without including Medical or Dental preferences, remain ineligible for this stage of the counselling process.

The KEA has advised students to consult the current seat matrix before finalizing their submissions. While the official schedule for the release of seat allotment results has not been finalized, reports indicate that the results are expected to be published later this week. Important Post-Allotment Rules and Mandatory Admission

A significant change in the procedure for this round is the removal of the choice-selection mechanism. Unlike previous rounds, candidates will not be presented with the standard 'Choice 1, 2, 3, or 4' options once the results are declared. Instead, admission to the newly allotted college or course will be considered mandatory. This policy shift is intended to streamline the final stages of the admission process.

Furthermore, the KEA has reiterated strict financial regulations regarding seat cancellations. Students who are allotted an engineering seat in this round—or in any subsequent casual vacancy round—and choose to cancel their admission will be required to pay the full government-prescribed engineering fee, in addition to a penalty amounting to five times the fee. All candidates are urged to complete their web option entries promptly to avoid any last-minute technical issues before the 6:00 PM cutoff.
