The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has officially announced a revision to the post-seat-allotment schedule for the Karnataka PGCET 2026 Round 1 counselling process. This update provides candidates who secured seats in MBA, MCA, M.E., M.Tech, and M.Arch programs with additional time to finalize their admission requirements following the release of the final seat allotment results on September 25, 2026.

Under the revised timeline, the deadline for candidates to complete their admission fee payments has been extended to October 7, 2026. Applicants are advised to ensure that these payments are processed strictly within banking hours. Once the transaction is successful, candidates are required to download their official seat confirmation slip, which serves as a critical document for the subsequent stages of the admission process.

Reporting and Admission Requirements

Following the completion of the fee payment and the acquisition of the confirmation slip, candidates must report to their respective allotted institutions to finalize their admission. The KEA has set the deadline for physical reporting at 6:00 PM on October 8, 2026. Students are expected to present all original documents required for verification at their designated colleges during this window.

The KEA has reiterated that all candidates must strictly adhere to the academic eligibility criteria and qualifications specified under the postgraduate admission rules for their respective courses. It is important to note that specific category-based eligibility benefits, including those for SC, ST, and OBC applicants, are applicable exclusively to candidates belonging to the state of Karnataka.

Regarding the progression of the counselling process, the current procedure has introduced some uncertainty among applicants due to the absence of a choice-entry mechanism following the first round of seat allotment. While the KEA typically offers a window for candidates to accept or reject their allotment or opt for an upgrade in a subsequent round, no official confirmation has been provided regarding the conduct of a second round of counselling. Further updates concerning the post-admission process will be communicated by the KEA in due course.
