The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) Kerala has officially commenced the option registration process for the second round of stray vacancy allotment for 3-year and 5-year LLB admissions for the 2026 academic session. Eligible candidates seeking admission to government and private self-financing law colleges across the state can now submit their fresh college preferences through the official portal.
This phase of the admission process is strictly for candidates who meet the specified eligibility criteria and whose names are included in the KLEE 2026 rank list. As the window for option entry is now open, applicants are encouraged to review their preferences carefully, keeping in mind the potential vacancies that may arise from category conversions.
The deadline to submit fresh options for the second round of stray vacancy allotment is October 17, 2026, at 10:00 AM. CEE Kerala has issued clear guidelines regarding participation eligibility to ensure a smooth allotment process. Candidates who have already secured admission in previous rounds, or those who received an allotment during the vacant seat or first stray vacancy rounds, are not permitted to participate in this or any subsequent phases.
A significant condition for this round is that any seat allotted to a candidate will be final. Those who receive an allotment in this round will not be eligible for any further allotment phases, regardless of whether they choose to join the college or not. Furthermore, if seats remain vacant following the conclusion of this round, they may be filled through a college-level stray vacancy allotment process.
To participate in the second round of stray vacancy allotment, candidates are required to pay a registration fee online. The fee structure is set at INR 1,000 for general and other applicable categories, while eligible SC, ST, and OEC candidates, as well as those from specific institutions such as Juvenile Homes, Nirbhaya Homes, and Sreechithra Homes, are required to pay INR 500.
Regarding the refund policy, CEE Kerala has clarified that the registration fee will be refunded to candidates who do not receive an allotment. However, if a candidate is allotted a seat but fails to complete the admission process within the designated timeframe, the fee will be forfeited as a penalty and will not be refunded. All allotments remain subject to final approval from the state government, the Bar Council of India, and the respective universities.
