The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has issued a formal notice to address the growing confusion surrounding the MHT CET 2027 examination schedule. In an official communication released on October 19, the authorities clarified their position on the widely circulated claims regarding a proposed December attempt for the entrance examination. The Cell has explicitly warned against relying on unverified information circulating on social media platforms, noting that such claims are misleading to serious aspirants.
The clarification comes as a response to widespread online speculation suggesting that the entrance exam for Engineering and Pharmacy admissions might be held as early as December. While there have been discussions regarding the potential for an earlier session to better align with national-level exams like JEE Mains and board examinations, the CET Cell has confirmed that no such schedule has been officially approved or published on its website. The authority emphasized that all legitimate updates regarding the examination process are exclusively communicated through its official portal at cetcell.mahacet.org.
To curb the spread of false information, the CET Cell has established a dedicated task force tasked with monitoring social media channels, including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and X. This initiative aims to identify and address the dissemination of fake news regarding exam dates and registration timelines. The official notice serves as a firm reminder to students and parents that any information not hosted on the official CET Cell website should be treated as speculative and unreliable.
Regarding the status of the December attempt, the authorities clarified that because the proposal was never formally incorporated into an official exam schedule, it cannot be classified as cancelled. It remains an unconfirmed concept that has not reached the stage of official implementation. Consequently, candidates are advised to refrain from making academic plans based on rumors or unofficial reports regarding the 2027 cycle.
As of now, the CET Cell has not released any official notification or registration timeline for the 2027 session. While students often look to previous years for guidance, the authorities have cautioned that past schedules should not be used to predict the upcoming timeline. For reference, the previous MHT CET cycle saw exams conducted in April and May, but these dates are specific to that year and do not guarantee a similar structure for the future.
The CET Cell will provide clarity on the number of attempts, the specific dates for the PCM and PCB groups, and the overall application process only through its official notifications. Until such a document is released, aspirants are encouraged to maintain their focus on their preparation and rely solely on the official website for all updates regarding the MHT CET 2027 examination.
