Medical aspirants participating in the NEET PG 2026 counselling process are facing significant challenges due to persistent technical errors within the online seat allotment system. The United Doctors Front (UDF) has formally urged the Union Health Ministry, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), and the National Medical Commission (NMC) to intervene immediately to resolve these systemic issues that are causing widespread anxiety among candidates.

Students across the country have reported a series of technical failures that have disrupted the counselling timeline. These issues range from website access failures during the critical choice-filling phase to errors in the printing of Round 1 seat allotment letters. Furthermore, candidates have expressed frustration over a lack of coordination between the central counselling body and individual medical colleges, which has led to confusion regarding admission procedures.

Concerns Over Counselling Procedures and Communication

A primary point of contention involves the newly introduced Freeze and Float rules. While official MCC guidelines explicitly state that candidates opting for the 'FLOAT' option are permitted to verify their documents online, many students report that nodal officers at various medical colleges are insisting on physical reporting. In several instances, candidates have been forced to explain the official counselling brochure to college authorities to clarify the rules, adding unnecessary stress to an already complex process.

Communication with the authorities has also proven difficult. Candidates attempting to report these technical discrepancies to the MCC via the email addresses provided on their personal dashboards have encountered system failures. Reports indicate that emails are being rejected by the server with notifications stating that the recipient's inbox is out of storage space, effectively cutting off a vital channel for student grievances.

Demands for Administrative Reform

In response to these developments, including the recent withdrawal and replacement of the Round 1 provisional allotment list due to data errors, the UDF has submitted a list of urgent demands to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) and the Health Ministry. The organization is calling for the issuance of clear, written notices to all participating colleges to ensure nodal officers adhere to online verification protocols.

Additionally, the UDF has requested that the authorities clear the storage space on blocked mailboxes and update all contact information to ensure it is functional. The doctors are also pushing for the establishment of a dedicated grievance portal to handle technical issues efficiently and are demanding a comprehensive administrative review of the counselling website to prevent crashes during high-traffic periods. As of now, students await further instructions from the ministry regarding these requested systemic improvements.
