The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu has officially expanded its academic footprint by launching a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Honours programme at its newly established Leh campus. This initiative, developed in collaboration with the Department of Higher Education of the Union Territory of Ladakh, marks a significant milestone for management education in the region.
The inaugural batch for this programme was welcomed during an orientation ceremony held on October 26, 2026. The establishment of this campus is supported by the administration of Ladakh, with the programme operating under the guidance of the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena. Officials believe that bringing a premier management institution to the region will foster local innovation, leadership, and entrepreneurial growth among the youth.
To ensure that the BBA (Hons) programme remains accessible to a diverse range of students, IIM Jammu has implemented a flexible, multi-channel admission system. Prospective students are not restricted to a single entrance examination; instead, the institute accepts scores from three distinct national-level tests. Candidates may apply for admission based on their performance in the Joint Integrated Programme in Management Admission Test (JIPMAT), the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), or the JEE Main.
This inclusive approach is designed to provide equitable opportunities for students from various academic backgrounds, including Humanities, Commerce, and Science, allowing them to pursue management studies directly after completing their Class 12 board examinations. By leveraging these established entrance pathways, the institute aims to streamline the application process while maintaining high academic standards for its new Leh-based cohort.
