The application window opened on September 10, 2026. Along with the release of the application forms, the institute has also made the official handbooks and detailed fee structures available for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. These documents provide essential information regarding eligibility, course structure, and the overall admission process for the upcoming academic year.
Following the registration phase, the NID Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Prelims is scheduled to take place on December 20, 2026. The examination will be conducted in an offline format at designated centres across the country. Candidates will receive specific information regarding their examination venue and reporting time through their admit cards, which are slated for release on December 10, 2026.
The application fee structure is tiered based on candidate categories. For General and OBC-NCL category applicants, the fee is set at INR 3,000. Female candidates, excluding those from SC, ST, and PwD categories, are required to pay INR 2,000. Candidates belonging to the SC and ST categories must pay an application fee of INR 1,500, while the fee for PwD candidates is fixed at INR 500.
