NIT Warangal Announces 24th Convocation Schedule for September 2026

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal has officially announced the schedule for its 24th Convocation ceremony, which is set to take place on September 19 and 20, 2026. The event will honour students who have successfully completed their undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes, provided their results were declared between November 11, 2025, and September 2, 2026.

The proceedings will be divided into two sessions held at the Ambedkar Learning Centre (ALC). On September 19, the institute will confer degrees upon undergraduate (UG) students. The following day, September 20, will be dedicated to postgraduate (PG) and PhD graduates. Both sessions are scheduled to commence at 10:00 AM and are expected to conclude by 1:00 PM. While the main ceremony will occur at the ALC, additional seating arrangements for remaining graduates will be provided in the auditorium.

Registration Requirements and Procedures

Participation in the convocation ceremony requires all graduates to clear any outstanding dues and complete a mandatory on-campus registration process. The registration deadlines are strictly set: UG graduates must register by 12:30 PM on September 18, while PG and PhD graduates must complete their registration by 12:30 PM on September 19. The registration venues are the Seminar Halls Complex for UG students and the New Academic Building (NAB) for PG and PhD students.

The registration method depends on the student's status. Those with NITWAS (ERP) accounts are required to register through the official portal. Meanwhile, eligible PhD students and those without an existing NITWAS/ERP account must complete a designated Google Form by September 15, 2026. Notably, only PhD candidates who received their Provisional Degree Certificates from the Examination Section on or before September 2, 2026, are eligible to use the Google Form. Upon successful registration, graduates will be issued their convocation stole, an official invitation, an admit card, and food tokens.

Dress Code and Ceremony Guidelines

NIT Warangal has implemented a formal dress code that all attendees must follow. Male students are required to wear a white kurta and white pyjama, while female students must wear a white kurta with salwar/churidar or a saree paired with a white or golden blouse. In both cases, the institute-provided convocation stole is mandatory, and formal footwear is required. The institute has explicitly prohibited casual footwear, such as bathroom slippers, and noted that students not adhering to the dress code will not be permitted to attend the ceremony.

Furthermore, electronic devices, including mobile phones and cameras, are strictly forbidden inside the convocation venues. The institute has emphasised that the final list of graduates will be finalised immediately after the registration counters close. Consequently, no requests for the inclusion of names will be entertained after the specified deadlines. Graduates are advised to ensure all formalities are completed promptly to avoid any disruption to their participation.
