SBI Clerk Prelims 2026 Exam Dates Announced for Regular and Backlog Vacancies

The State Bank of India (SBI) has officially released the examination schedule for the 2026 Preliminary stage of the Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) recruitment process. Candidates who have applied for these positions can now plan their preparations according to the specific dates allocated for both regular and backlog vacancies.

The examination process is structured to take place across three distinct dates in late 2026. According to the official announcement, the bank has separated the testing timeline based on the nature of the vacancies, ensuring a streamlined process for all applicants involved in the recruitment drive.

SBI Clerk 2026 Preliminary Examination Schedule

For candidates applying under the backlog vacancy category, the preliminary examination is scheduled to be held on September 16, 2026. Those who have applied for regular vacancies will have their examinations conducted on September 27 and October 3, 2026. It is important to note that the dates for regular vacancies are currently listed as tentative by the bank.

Only candidates who have completed the registration process successfully will be eligible to receive their admit cards. The admit card serves as a mandatory document for entry into the examination hall and will contain critical information, including the candidate's specific exam date, reporting time, assigned shift, and the designated examination centre. Additionally, the hall ticket will provide the candidate's roll number and a set of essential instructions that must be followed on the day of the test.

Admit Card and Examination Day Requirements

The State Bank of India is expected to release the admit cards for the preliminary examination in the period leading up to the respective exam dates. Candidates are advised to monitor the official website to download their hall tickets once they are made available. The bank has emphasised that the admit card must be printed and carried to the examination centre.
