The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is approaching the final deadline for its July 2026 academic session registration. Prospective students interested in enrolling for various undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma programmes are advised to complete their application process before the official cutoff date of September 15, 2026.
This registration window applies to a wide range of academic offerings at the university. It is important for applicants to note that this specific deadline does not apply to certification courses. Candidates looking to secure their spot for the 2026-27 academic cycle should ensure all documentation is prepared and submitted through the university's designated online portals before the window closes.
The university has streamlined its admission process by providing separate portals based on the mode of study. Students opting for Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programmes must submit their applications through the official website at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. Meanwhile, those pursuing programmes offered in the Online mode are required to register via ignouiop.samarth.edu.in.
To ensure a smooth application experience, candidates are encouraged to have all necessary materials ready before beginning the process. Required items include a valid APAAR ID, scanned copies of relevant academic mark sheets for Class X and XII, and, where applicable, undergraduate or postgraduate degree certificates. Additionally, applicants must provide a recent passport-sized photograph, a scanned copy of their signature, a valid government-issued ID proof, and any relevant category certificates.
The application procedure is conducted entirely online. After navigating to the appropriate portal, candidates must first register using a valid email address and mobile number. Once registered, applicants will be prompted to link their APAAR ID and provide comprehensive details regarding their personal information, academic history, and programme preferences.
Following the data entry phase, candidates must upload the required supporting documents and pay the designated admission fee of INR 300. The university emphasises that students should carefully review all entered information before final submission. Once the payment is processed and the application is submitted, candidates should save the confirmation page for their records. This registration period is a critical step for students aiming to commence their studies in the July 2026-27 session across various disciplines, including BA, BCom, MBA, MCom, and MSc courses.
