The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has officially extended the application window for the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) 2027. Prospective students aiming to secure admission into Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programmes across participating institutions now have additional time to submit their registration forms.

According to the latest notification issued by the examination authority on October 31, 2026, the deadline for regular registration has been moved to November 5, 2026. For those who are unable to meet this initial cutoff, a secondary window remains open until November 10, 2026, provided that applicants pay an additional late fee. IIT Bombay has explicitly stated that this will be the final extension for the registration process, urging all interested candidates to complete their submissions promptly.

Revised Application Schedule and Fee Structure

The updated timeline provides a brief grace period for students who missed the previous October 31 deadline. Candidates planning to apply without incurring extra costs must finalize their applications by November 5, 2026. Those submitting their forms between November 6 and November 10, 2026, will be required to pay a late fee of INR 500 in addition to the standard registration charges.

The registration fee is structured based on the candidate's category and nationality. For Indian nationals, as well as eligible Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) and Person of Indian Origin (PIO) candidates, the fee is set at INR 2,000 for female applicants, SC/ST/PwD candidates, and INR 4,000 for all other categories. International applicants are subject to different rates: US$200 for SAARC nationals and US$250 for non-SAARC candidates, with an additional US$50 late fee applicable for those registering after the November 5 deadline.

How to Apply and Exam Details

To register, candidates must visit the official UCEED portal at uceed.iitb.ac.in. The process involves creating a login account using a valid email address, entering personal and academic information, and uploading required documents such as photographs and signatures. Once the details are submitted and the online payment is processed, candidates should download the confirmation page for their records.

The UCEED 2027 examination is scheduled to take place on January 17, 2027. The test will be held in a centre-based format from 9 AM to 12 noon. As the final deadline of November 10, 2026, approaches, students are encouraged to ensure all documentation is accurate to avoid any complications during the final submission phase.
