Prospective students aiming to pursue undergraduate design programmes at participating Indian Institutes of Technology have only three days remaining to complete their UCEED 2027 registration without paying a late fee. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, which oversees the entrance examination, has set the deadline for regular fee submissions at November 5, 2026.

Candidates interested in the Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programme must ensure their applications are submitted through the official portal at uceed.iitb.ac.in by 11:59 PM on the deadline date. This window serves as the final opportunity to register at the standard fee rate before the transition to the late-fee period.

Registration Details and Late Fee Provisions

For those who are unable to meet the November 5 deadline, IIT Bombay has provided a secondary registration window. Applicants will be permitted to register between November 6 and November 10, 2026; however, this will require the payment of an additional late fee of INR 500 on top of the standard registration charges. The institute has explicitly stated that the registration portal will close permanently at 5:00 PM on November 10, and no further extensions will be granted.

The registration fee structure is tiered based on candidate category. Female candidates, as well as those belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwD) categories, are required to pay an application fee of INR 2,000. All other candidates must pay a fee of INR 4,000. These amounts are subject to the additional INR 500 late fee if the application is submitted after the November 5 cutoff.

Eligibility and Application Process

The UCEED examination is open to students who have either passed their Class 12 or equivalent examination in 2026 or are currently appearing for their qualifying examination in 2027. The exam is inclusive of all academic streams, including Science, Commerce, and Arts and Humanities. It is important to note that UCEED scores are specifically for B.Des admissions at institutions including IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee, and IIITDM Jabalpur. Candidates seeking admission to M.Des programmes should instead refer to the CEED examination process.

To apply, candidates must visit the official UCEED website, register with a valid email address, and create login credentials. Once logged in, applicants are required to input their personal, academic, and contact information, upload the necessary documents—including a photograph and signature—and complete the online payment. After submission, candidates are advised to download and retain a copy of the confirmation page for their records.
