The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to close the objection window for the UGC NET 2026 provisional answer key today, August 18. Released on August 16, the provisional answer key is available for 84 subjects on the official NTA website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in. Candidates who believe they have identified errors in the answer key can submit their objections online until 11:59 PM today. This process allows candidates to verify their recorded responses and assess their performance in the examination.

To raise an objection, candidates must log into the UGC NET answer key challenge window using their application number, password or date of birth, and a security pin. The fee for challenging each question is set at INR 200, which is fully refundable if the challenge is accepted. It is crucial for candidates to submit their challenges through the designated online mode, as submissions via email, fax, or letter will not be considered. Payment can be made using debit cards, credit cards, or net banking, and no challenges will be processed without the accompanying fee.

The provisional answer key, along with the question paper and response sheet, serves as a vital tool for candidates to estimate their probable scores. The answer key includes essential details such as the exam date, shift, subject name and code, question ID, and correct option ID. This information enables candidates to evaluate their performance and understand their standing in the examination.

Successful candidates in the UGC NET exam will have numerous opportunities in academia and research. They can pursue roles as assistant professors, engage in lectureship, or obtain Junior Research Fellowships (JRF). Additionally, they may embark on Ph.D. programs, establish their laboratories, or work in prestigious institutions such as ICAR, DRDO, and ICMR. The acceptance of challenges by subject matter experts will ensure that any corrections made to the answer key are applied uniformly across all candidates.

It is important to note that once the challenge window closes or the results are declared, no further objections regarding the answer keys will be entertained. Candidates are encouraged to act promptly to ensure their concerns are addressed within the specified timeframe. The finalized answer key, after considering all challenges, will be deemed conclusive for the examination.
