The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has officially commenced the registration process for the VITEEE 2027 entrance examination. Prospective students seeking admission into BTech programmes across the institute's various campuses can now submit their applications through the official website at viteee.vit.ac.in. The application window is currently active, with the final deadline for submissions set for March 31, 2027.

This year, the university has introduced several updates to both the application procedure and the examination structure. Candidates are advised to review these changes carefully before initiating their registration, as the institute does not provide a correction facility once the form has been submitted. Ensuring the accuracy of all personal and academic information during the initial entry is essential for a successful application.

Application Process and Key Updates

The registration process is conducted entirely online. Applicants must first sign up on the official portal to receive their login credentials, which are then used to complete the application form. The process requires candidates to input their personal and educational details, including information from their 10th-standard records. A significant change in the application procedure this year is the requirement for real-time photo capture; candidates must use a webcam or mobile device with high resolution to capture their photograph rather than uploading a pre-existing file.

In addition to the photo requirement, the application fee has been revised to INR 1450, which is non-refundable. Applicants are also required to upload specific documents, including a scanned signature in JPG or JPEG format (20 KB to 300 KB) and their 10th-standard marksheet in PDF format (under 2 MB). For those residing in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, or the North-East states, as well as SC/ST candidates, specific eligibility relaxations apply regarding qualifying marks. For the general category, candidates must have achieved at least 60% aggregate in their qualifying stream (MPCEA or BPCEA), with a minimum of 50% in the relevant core subject of Mathematics or Biology.

Examination Schedule and Pattern Changes

The VITEEE 2027 examination is scheduled to take place from April 27 to May 2, 2027. Alongside the registration launch, the university has announced notable adjustments to the exam pattern. These updates include a reduction in the overall exam duration and the total number of questions. Furthermore, the authorities have introduced a sectional limit for the 2027 entrance test. Candidates are encouraged to monitor the official website for any further updates regarding the examination process as the testing window approaches.
