Babu Banarasi Das University, commonly referred to as BBDU Lucknow, was founded in 2010. Situated in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, it is a state-private university. The establishment of Babu Banarasi Das University Lucknow was initiated by Akhilesh Das, who named it in honor of his father, Babu Banarasi Das, a former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh. It is recognized by the UGC and has also received approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
