The Bar Council of India (BCI) is nearing the conclusion of the registration process for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) XXII, scheduled for 2026. Aspiring legal professionals who intend to sit for this mandatory examination must ensure their application forms are submitted through the official portal, allindiabarexamination.com, before the upcoming deadline.

With the application window closing on October 27, 2026, candidates are advised to complete their submissions well in advance to avoid potential technical issues during the final hours. Following the initial registration, the deadline for the online payment of the examination fee is set for October 28, 2026. Furthermore, the BCI has scheduled a correction window, which will remain active until October 30, 2026, allowing registered candidates to rectify any errors in their submitted forms.

Eligibility Criteria and Application Procedure

To be eligible for the AIBE XXII, candidates must hold a three-year or five-year LL.B. degree from a university or college recognized by the Bar Council of India. Students currently in their final year or final semester of an LL.B. program are also eligible to apply, provided they have no pending backlogs. The BCI has also provided specific guidelines for law graduates who have completed their studies but are awaiting their degrees, as well as for those who have not yet enrolled with a State Bar Council or have previously surrendered their enrollment certificates.

The application process requires candidates to register on the official website using their personal details, a valid mobile number, and an email address. Once the initial credentials are generated, applicants must log in to complete the form, which includes providing educational and enrollment information, selecting preferred examination centers, and uploading a photograph and signature. The process concludes with the payment of the application fee. The fee structure is set at INR 3,500 for General, OBC, EWS, and Women candidates, while SC, ST, and PWD candidates are required to pay INR 2,500, plus applicable transaction charges.

Examination Schedule and Preparation

The AIBE XXII is officially scheduled to take place on November 29, 2026. Candidates who successfully complete the registration and payment process can expect their admit cards to be released on November 14, 2026. It is essential for applicants to monitor the official website regularly for updates and specific instructions regarding the examination day.

As the examination date approaches, candidates are encouraged to focus their preparation on key areas, including Constitutional Law, the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), the Code of Civil Procedure (CPC), and the Indian Penal Code (IPC) or Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Reviewing updated Bare Acts and practicing with previous years' question papers are recommended strategies for those preparing for the test.
