The National Law University (NLU) Delhi has officially commenced the application process for the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2027. Prospective students aiming for admission into the university's law programmes are encouraged to complete their registrations well ahead of the deadline, which is set for November 10, 2026. The entire application procedure is conducted exclusively online through the official university portal at nationallawuniversitydelhi.in.
To ensure a smooth registration experience, candidates are advised to prepare all necessary documentation and personal details before initiating the online form. NLU Delhi has emphasised the importance of adhering to strict file formats and size specifications, as incorrect uploads may lead to the rejection of the application. The examination itself is scheduled to take place on December 13, 2026, and will be conducted in an offline format.
When preparing the application, candidates must ensure that all scanned documents are clear and fully legible. For the photograph, applicants are required to upload a recent colour image with a white background in JPG or JPEG format, with a maximum file size of 1 MB. Similarly, the signature must be scanned on white paper, ideally within a 6 x 3 cm box, and saved in JPG or JPEG format not exceeding 1 MB.
Specific documentation is required for certain categories of applicants. Candidates belonging to reserved categories must have their relevant certificates ready for upload. Additionally, foreign nationals are required to provide a scanned copy of their passport in PDF format, with a maximum size limit of 2 MB. Those eligible under the BPL category must also upload a clear, scanned copy of their certificate in PDF format, also capped at 2 MB. It is highly recommended that candidates verify the complete list of requirements in the official information bulletin provided by NLU Delhi to ensure full compliance.
During the registration process, candidates are required to select their preferred examination centres. The portal allows for a maximum of three choices, and applicants should note that once the form is submitted, these centre preferences cannot be altered. Details regarding the specific name and address of the allotted exam centre will be communicated to students through their admit cards, which must be presented at the venue on the day of the test.
University officials have advised against waiting until the final days of the application window to avoid potential technical issues caused by heavy traffic on the website. Early submission provides candidates with the necessary time to rectify any upload errors. Furthermore, all associated fees, including the counselling registration fee, must be settled through digital payment methods such as net banking, credit or debit cards, or UPI. As there is no offline application facility, all candidates must use the official university website to complete their registration.
