The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur is set to open the application correction window for the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2027 on November 10, 2026. This facility provides candidates who have already submitted their applications an opportunity to rectify specific errors or update information before the examination process proceeds further.
To access the correction facility, applicants must visit the official JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) portal at jam.iitkgp.ac.in. Candidates will be required to log in using their registered enrolment ID and password to view and edit their submitted forms.
The correction window allows for changes to several key fields. According to the official notification, candidates may update their exam centre preferences, choice of examination cities, and the selected JAM test paper. Additionally, personal details such as gender, category (General, SC, ST, OBC-NCL, or EWS), Person with Disability (PwD) status, and the names of the candidate, parent, or guardian can be modified. Academic information, including the name of the qualifying college and the year of passing, as well as the correspondence address, is also eligible for updates.
It is important for candidates to note that not all sections of the application form are editable. Information such as the application number, date of submission, application status, fee payment status, and uploaded files like photographs and signatures cannot be altered through this general correction window. While some modifications may incur an additional fee, IIT Kharagpur has clarified that no charges will be levied for rectifying specific defects identified during the document scrutiny process.
If a candidate receives an official notification via email or SMS regarding defects in their uploaded photograph, signature, or certificates, they are required to address these issues within the specified deadline. Failure to correct these identified defects could lead to the application being treated as provisional or, in some cases, rejected. Once all necessary changes have been made and verified, candidates should submit the corrected form and download the updated confirmation page for their records.
