The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has announced a significant overhaul of its examination security protocols for the upcoming 2027 Class 10 and 12 board examinations. In an effort to curb malpractice, prevent answer sheet replacement, and ensure the integrity of the evaluation process, the board will implement a new system featuring QR-coded and colour-coded answer booklets.
These changes represent a shift from the previous two-cover format to a streamlined single-cover design. The new cover page will feature a unique QR code, which, when scanned, will display the official logo of the Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education. This digital verification step is designed to allow officials to quickly confirm the authenticity of each student's answer booklet, making it significantly harder for unauthorized or tampered documents to be introduced into the system.
To further improve the identification process and prevent the unauthorized swapping of pages, the board has introduced a specific colour-coding system for both High School and Intermediate answer sheets. Under this new mandate, the 'A' and 'B' copies will be distinguished by distinct colours. For Class 10 students, the 'A' copy will be dark orange, while the 'B' copy will be dark blue. For Class 12 students, the 'A' copy will be purple, and the 'B' copy will be green.
In addition to these visual markers, every page within the booklets will be numbered, and the inclusion of QR codes will assist in tracking the movement and legitimacy of the documents. These measures are part of a broader strategy to maintain a transparent and fair examination environment for all candidates across the state.
The board has also issued comprehensive directives regarding the storage and distribution of these new materials. Answer sheet bundles are required to be stored in secure rooms under 24-hour CCTV surveillance. Furthermore, the board has implemented a strict tracking system where the serial numbers of all bundles must be recorded in official registers.
Examination centre superintendents are tasked with distributing these sheets in strict serial order, with the rule that a new bundle may only be opened once all sheets from the preceding bundle have been exhausted. District Inspectors of Schools (DIOS) will be responsible for maintaining these records and uploading the distribution details to the official UPMSP website. The 2027 board examinations are currently proposed to take place from February 5 to February 24, 2027. Students are encouraged to monitor the official UPMSP website for further updates regarding the final exam schedule and admit card releases.
