The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the datesheet for the 2027 Class 12 board examinations. With the schedule now public, students across the country can begin finalising their revision plans and coordinating their academic calendars for the upcoming examination season.
For students simultaneously preparing for the JEE Main 2027 entrance exams, the release of the board schedule provides a critical opportunity to cross-reference dates. By comparing the CBSE timetable with the previously announced National Testing Agency (NTA) schedule, candidates can identify potential overlaps and manage their study time more efficiently.
According to the official notification, the CBSE Class 12 theory examinations are set to commence on February 16, 2027, with the Physics paper. The examination period will span several weeks, concluding on April 9, 2027. Key subject examinations scheduled throughout the period include Chemistry on February 27, English Core/Elective on March 5, and Mathematics/Applied Mathematics on March 9.
Other significant papers include Economics on March 16, Biology on March 25, and Computer Science/Informatics Practices on March 31. The final stretch of the examinations features Business Studies on April 1, followed by various elective subjects, including Legal Studies and Retail, which are scheduled for April 8 and 9, respectively.
A primary concern for many students is the potential for scheduling conflicts between board exams and national entrance tests. Based on the current announcements, there is no direct overlap between the JEE Main 2027 Session 1 examinations and the start of the CBSE Class 12 theory papers. The JEE Main Session 1 is scheduled to conclude on January 28, 2027, providing a gap before the board exams begin on February 16.
However, students planning to appear for the JEE Main April session are advised to exercise caution. While the majority of core subjects are held earlier in the season, certain elective papers are scheduled in the first week of April. Candidates should carefully review their specific subject combinations against the NTA’s JEE Main April session dates to ensure there are no conflicts with their individual board exam requirements. Students are encouraged to use this official datesheet to structure their preparation and ensure they remain on track for both their board results and entrance exam goals.
