The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the revised schedule for the 22nd edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). According to the latest notification issued by the board, the examination is now set to take place on December 12 and 13, 2026. This announcement follows the earlier postponement of the test, which was originally slated for September 6, 2026.
The CTET serves as a critical qualification for individuals aspiring to secure teaching positions in schools across the country. Candidates who successfully clear this examination gain the eligibility required to apply for various teaching roles, provided they meet the specific recruitment criteria established by the respective school authorities or hiring organizations.
To assist candidates in their logistical planning, the CBSE has confirmed that information regarding the allotted exam city and the specific date of the examination will be accessible through the official CTET portal. This information is scheduled to be released 15 days prior to the commencement of the tests. Candidates are encouraged to monitor the portal regularly once this window opens to ensure they have sufficient time to arrange travel and accommodation.
Regarding the issuance of hall tickets, the board has clarified that the CTET 2026 admit cards will be made available for download two days before the examination date. These documents will contain essential information, including the specific examination centre assigned to each candidate. It is mandatory for all test-takers to download their admit cards from the official website and present them at the examination venue as per the board's instructions. Candidates are advised to keep a close watch on the official CTET website for any further updates or supplementary guidelines issued by the CBSE leading up to the December dates.
