The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially commenced the registration process for private candidates intending to appear for the 2027 board examinations. Students who are not enrolled in regular CBSE-affiliated schools but wish to sit for the Class 10 or Class 12 exams can now access the application portal on the board's official website, cbse.gov.in.
This registration window is specifically designed for individuals who meet the board's criteria for private candidature. Unlike regular students, whose examination data is submitted by their respective schools through the List of Candidates (LOC) process, private candidates are required to manage their own registration and form submission directly through the board's online platform.
The board has specified several categories of students who are eligible to apply as private candidates for the upcoming 2027 session. This includes students who have been placed in the Essential Repeat category, as well as those who fall under the Compartment category. Furthermore, candidates seeking to improve their previously obtained marks and those who were unable to appear for the board examinations in the previous cycle, subject to specific board regulations, are also permitted to register.
To complete the application, candidates should visit the official CBSE website and navigate to the 'Latest @ CBSE' section on the homepage, where the direct link for the 2027 private candidate form is hosted. The process involves registering with personal and examination-related information, selecting the appropriate subjects, and completing the online fee payment. Once the form is submitted, it is recommended that students retain a printed copy for their personal records.
