The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is set to conduct the Preliminary examination for the recruitment of Customer Service Associates (CSA) across participating public sector banks on October 10 and 11, 2026. As the first stage of the recruitment process, this exam requires candidates to adhere strictly to the protocols established by the examination body to ensure a smooth entry and testing experience.
Candidates scheduled to appear for the test are advised to thoroughly review their individual admit cards. These documents contain critical information, including the specific reporting time, shift schedule, and the designated examination centre. Because the examination is conducted in multiple shifts, it is essential that candidates verify their unique reporting time, as this may vary between individuals.
The examination is structured into four distinct shifts each day. The first shift begins at 9:00 am, with a reporting time of 8:00 am. The second shift starts at 11:30 am, following a 10:30 am reporting time. The third shift is scheduled for 2:00 pm, with candidates expected to report by 1:00 pm. Finally, the fourth shift commences at 4:30 pm, with a reporting time of 3:30 pm. During each shift, a specific window is allocated for a handwriting sample, occurring just minutes before the official start of the test.
To facilitate a seamless entry process, candidates must arrive at their assigned venue well before the reporting time to complete necessary identity verification and security formalities. Mandatory items for entry include a printed copy of the IBPS Clerk Prelims admit card, an original valid photo identity proof, a photocopy of that same identity proof, and a recent passport-size photograph as specified in the call letter. Any additional declarations or documents explicitly requested by the IBPS must also be carried.
Candidates are encouraged to organize their required documents the night before the examination to avoid last-minute complications. It is vital to confirm the exact location of the exam centre and plan the travel route in advance. While mobile phones may be used for navigation or travel arrangements, they must be left outside the examination area in accordance with centre regulations. Prohibited electronic devices are strictly forbidden within the testing hall.
Upon arrival, all candidates are required to comply with biometric verification and frisking procedures. Following the instructions provided by the exam centre staff is mandatory. By ensuring all documentation is in order and adhering to the reporting schedule, candidates can focus on the examination process. For those preparing for the final hours, re-verifying the admit card details and ensuring all required items are packed remains the most effective way to ensure a stress-free start to the exam day.
