IIT Kanpur Announces Certificate Programme in Python for AI, ML and Deep Learning

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has officially announced a new certificate programme focused on Python for Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Deep Learning. This intensive five-week course is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of both theoretical concepts and practical applications within these rapidly evolving technological fields.

The programme is scheduled to commence on December 14, 2026, and will conclude on January 15, 2027. Throughout the duration of the course, participants will engage in live lectures, explore the mathematical foundations of AI and machine learning, and complete various projects using the Python programming language. The curriculum aims to offer hands-on experience by utilizing datasets derived from diverse sectors, including business, medicine, science, and engineering.

Eligibility Criteria and Programme Highlights

IIT Kanpur has structured this programme to accommodate a wide range of participants, including students, research scholars, faculty members, and industry professionals. Eligible academic candidates include those currently pursuing B.Tech, BE, B.Sc, BBA, BCA, M.Tech, ME, M.Sc, MBA, and MCA degrees. The institute has also noted that a limited number of exceptional students from Class XI and XII may be considered for admission.
