CAT 2026 Registration Deadline Approaching: Final Call for MBA Aspirants

The registration process for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2026 is nearing its conclusion, with the official portal set to close tomorrow, September 15, at 5 PM. MBA aspirants and final-year undergraduate students who have yet to submit their applications are urged to complete the process promptly through the official website, iimcat.ac.in. IIM Indore, which is serving as the conducting body for this year’s examination, has confirmed that no requests for late registrations will be entertained once the deadline passes.

Prospective candidates are reminded that simply entering their details on the portal does not constitute a completed application. The process is only finalized once the required registration fee has been successfully paid. To avoid potential technical issues, such as server congestion or payment failures that often occur during the final hours of a registration window, authorities have advised applicants to submit their forms well before the cutoff time.

Application Details and Examination Guidelines

The registration fee for CAT 2026 is structured according to candidate categories. Applicants from the General, EWS, and NC-OBC categories are required to pay a fee of INR 2,700, while candidates belonging to the SC, ST, and PwD categories must pay INR 1,350. All payments must be processed online using the digital payment methods provided on the official website. Before final submission, it is critical for candidates to thoroughly review all entered information, as IIM Indore will not provide a comprehensive form correction window. The limited correction facility, which opens after the registration period, will only allow for updates to photographs, signatures, and test city preferences.

Following the conclusion of the registration process, the next major milestone for candidates is the release of the admit cards, which is scheduled for November 4. On the day of the examination, November 29, candidates must present a physical, color printout of their admit card on an A4-sized sheet. Digital copies will not be accepted, as the document must be signed and stamped by test center staff to verify attendance. Candidates are also required to affix a passport-sized photograph to the printout, ideally matching the one uploaded during the application process. The CAT 2026 exam remains a significant assessment of analytical aptitude, logical reasoning, data interpretation, and English comprehension, consisting of 68 questions with a maximum possible score of 204 marks.
