The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has announced that the registration portal for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2027 will be reopened for a limited period. This decision follows numerous requests from prospective candidates who were previously unable to complete their application submissions.

The application window is scheduled to open on October 16 at 10:30 am and will remain accessible until October 16 at 10:29 am. Officials have clarified that this is a final opportunity for students to register, and no further extensions will be granted beyond this timeframe. During this extended phase, candidates may also complete pending tasks such as finalizing payments, providing access to DigiLocker folders, or confirming consent validity.

Registration Details and Fee Structure

Participation during this reopened window is subject to the payment of late fees. The application process is conducted exclusively through the official GOAPS portal. Candidates are required to authenticate their details via DigiLocker, upload the necessary photograph and signature, complete the facial registration process, and settle the applicable fees to finalize their submission.

The fee structure for the extended registration period is set at INR 1500 for female candidates and those belonging to the SC, ST, or PwD categories. For all other candidates, the application fee is INR 2500. Once the payment and all required details are successfully submitted, applicants are advised to download the confirmation page for their records. As this represents the final opportunity to apply for the examination, candidates are encouraged to ensure all documentation and technical requirements are met before the portal closes.
