The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) Cell has updated the vacancy list for the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) Round 3 for First Year Engineering and Technology admissions for the academic year 2026-27. Following a recent order from the Bombay High Court, the updated list now includes 288 un-aided seats across various engineering programs at LET. Dr. D. B. Dod College of Engineering, which was added to the admission process, is provisionally included pending final government approval.
The Bombay High Court's order, issued on August 19, 2026, in the case WP 6240 of 2026, allowed the inclusion of Dr. D. B. Dod College of Engineering in the MHT CET CAP admission process. However, the admission process at this institute remains contingent upon the final approval from the Maharashtra government, adherence to the relevant Government Resolution, and the college's affiliation with the appropriate university. The outcome of the ongoing court petition will also influence the admissions.
The vacancy document, published on August 21, 2026, details four engineering programs available at the college: Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. The breakdown of un-aided vacant CAP seats is as follows: 96 for Computer Science and Engineering, 48 for both Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, and 96 for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, totaling 288 seats.
For the Computer Science and Engineering program, the college has an overall intake of 120 seats, which includes 78 Maharashtra State seats, 18 All India seats, and 24 institute-specific seats. Electrical Engineering has a total of 60 seats, while both Artificial Intelligence and Data Science and Mechanical Engineering programs have an intake of 120 seats each. Additionally, the document notes the availability of 12 Economically Weaker Section (EWS) seats and six seats under the Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme for the 120-seat programs.
It is important for candidates to understand that the addition of Dr. D. B. Dod College of Engineering does not equate to unconditional approval for admissions. The State CET Cell has emphasized that the college's participation in the admission process is provisional and subject to various conditions. Candidates are advised to fill in all eligible choice codes, as the vacancy situation may evolve throughout the admission process. Therefore, it is crucial for applicants to stay updated on the latest vacancy information and carefully consider the provisional status of the newly added institute when making their choices.
