NEET PG 2026 Scheduled for August 30: Exam Timings and Guidelines Released

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has officially announced that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET-PG) 2026 will take place on August 30. The examination is scheduled to be held in a single shift across more than 1,300 designated centres located in approximately 340 cities throughout India.

Candidates preparing for admission to postgraduate medical programmes, including MD and MS courses, are advised to familiarise themselves with the official exam day protocols. Adherence to these guidelines is mandatory for all test-takers to ensure a smooth entry and examination process at their respective centres.

Exam Schedule and Reporting Protocols

The NEET PG 2026 examination will commence at 9:00 AM and conclude at 12:30 PM. To facilitate an orderly entry process, the board has established a strict timeline for candidates. The reporting time for all students is set for 7:00 AM, and the entry gates to the examination centres will close promptly at 8:30 AM. Following the entry, candidates will gain access to the login window at 8:45 AM, providing a 15-minute buffer before the examination officially begins.

Candidates are required to carry specific documentation to the exam centre, including a coloured printout of their admit card, a photocopy of their permanent or provisional MBBS registration, and an original, valid photo identification card in hard copy. The board has explicitly prohibited the possession of various items within the examination hall to maintain the integrity of the testing environment. Prohibited items include calculators, pagers, Bluetooth devices, earphones, medical devices, and any food or water items.

Preparation and Compliance

As the examination date approaches, candidates are encouraged to review all official instructions provided by the NBEMS to avoid any last-minute complications. By strictly following the reporting schedule and ensuring all required documents are prepared in advance, students can focus on their performance during the test. The board emphasises that failure to comply with these established guidelines may result in restricted entry or other administrative issues at the examination venue.
