The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially updated the examination schedule for the JEE Main 2027 cycle. The revisions impact the timeline for the first session of the entrance examination, while the specific dates for the second session have now been confirmed for candidates planning their academic year.
According to the latest notification, the JEE Main 2027 Session 1 examinations are now scheduled to be held on January 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, and 28, 2027. This adjustment replaces the previously announced dates for the January cycle. Additionally, the NTA has set the dates for Session 2, which will take place from April 2 through April 7, 2027.
The application process for Session 1 is currently underway, having commenced on October 24, 2026. Candidates have until November 22, 2026, to submit their applications through the official website at jeemain.nta.nic.in. For those who are unable to meet the primary deadline, the NTA has provided a late-fee window from November 23 to November 26, 2026, which requires an additional payment of INR 500.
The registration window for Session 2 is scheduled to open on January 5, 2027, and will remain active until February 3, 2027. A similar late-fee provision will be available for the second session, allowing candidates to submit their forms between February 4 and February 7, 2027, upon payment of the prescribed late fee.
The NTA has also outlined the schedule for the release of essential examination documents. For Session 1, the city intimation slip is expected to be available on December 30, 2026, followed by the release of admit cards on January 13, 2027. Candidates are reminded that the city intimation slip serves only to inform them of their assigned examination city and is distinct from the final admit card.
For the Session 2 examinations, the city intimation slips are slated for release on March 12, 2027, with the admit cards scheduled to follow on March 25, 2027. The admit card will provide critical information, including the specific examination centre address, reporting times, and mandatory instructions for the day of the test. Candidates are advised to monitor the official NTA website regularly to ensure they have the most current information regarding their examination logistics.
