The SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) has officially commenced the registration process for the SRMJEEE 2027 entrance examination. In a significant update for prospective engineering students, the university has announced that the examination will be held in two phases this year, marking a reduction from the previous three-phase format. This change requires applicants to adjust their admission strategy, as there will no longer be a third attempt available for score improvement.
According to the official schedule, Phase 1 of the SRMJEEE 2027 is set to take place from April 17 to April 18, 2027. The second and final phase is scheduled for June 19 to June 20, 2027. With only two opportunities to secure a qualifying score, candidates are encouraged to approach their preparation with increased focus and strategic planning from the outset of the academic cycle.
The SRMJEEE 2027 examination consists of 120 questions totaling 360 marks, divided into four distinct sections: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English combined with logical reasoning. Given the competitive nature of the admissions process, students are advised to prioritize concept clarity and time management. The university suggests that students who are already preparing for the JEE Main examination will find the syllabus coverage largely sufficient, provided they also dedicate time to specific mock tests and practice papers designed for the SRMJEEE format.
For those preparing for the entrance test alongside their Class 12 board examinations, maintaining a balanced study schedule is essential. Experts recommend utilizing standard resources such as NCERT textbooks for Chemistry and Mathematics, while Physics preparation can be supplemented with established reference materials like HC Verma’s volumes. Because the number of attempts has been reduced, students are encouraged to treat the first phase as a primary opportunity to secure their preferred course and campus, thereby reducing the pressure of a single remaining attempt in June.
A critical component of success in the SRMJEEE 2027 will be the ability to maintain both speed and accuracy. As the exam features a high volume of questions, candidates should be mindful of avoiding common errors, particularly in sections where the answer choices may appear similar or confusing. Regular practice with sample papers is recommended to help students become familiar with the exam pattern and to refine their test-taking techniques before the April phase.
By completing the majority of the syllabus well before the first phase, candidates can better manage the transition between their board exam preparations and the entrance test requirements. With registration now open for both phases, students should finalize their application details and establish a consistent revision routine to ensure they are adequately prepared for the upcoming testing windows.
