The West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) has officially initiated the registration process for the stray vacancy round of the NEET UG 2026 state counselling. This phase is intended for candidates seeking admission into MBBS and BDS programmes across the state. Interested applicants are required to complete their registration formalities through the official WBMCC portal at wbmcc.nic.in.
The committee has set a strict deadline for this stage of the admission process, with the registration window scheduled to close at 8 PM today, October 16, 2026. Candidates are advised to ensure all required steps are completed within this timeframe to remain eligible for consideration for the remaining medical and dental seats.
Following the conclusion of the registration and fee payment process today, the counselling schedule will proceed with candidate verification and the publication of the verified candidates' list and seat matrix, both of which are slated for October 16 and 17, 2026. Once these administrative steps are finalized, the portal will open for online choice filling and locking, which will be available to candidates from October 17 through October 18, 2026.
The seat allotment results for the stray vacancy round are scheduled to be released on October 23, 2026. Successful candidates will then be required to report to their allotted institutions for the admission process, which is set to take place on October 23, 24, and 26, 2026.
To participate in this round, candidates must visit the official WBMCC website and select the 'New Candidate Registration' option to initiate the one-time registration process. After agreeing to the terms and conditions, applicants must fill out the required form, which includes providing qualification details, contact information, and uploading necessary documentation. The final step involves paying the registration fee and previewing the application before submission. It is essential for all participants to verify their entries carefully before final submission to avoid any discrepancies during the verification phase.
