XLRI Concludes Summer Internship Placements for 2026-28 Batch with Average Stipend of Rs 1.75 Lakh

XLRI Jamshedpur has officially concluded its summer internship placement process for the 2026-28 academic batch. The recruitment drive saw strong participation from industry leaders, resulting in nearly all students across the Business Management and Human Resource Management programmes securing internship positions.

The placement season was marked by significant interest from the corporate sector, with 106 organisations participating in the process. Among these, 32 were new recruiters, contributing to a total of 594 internship offers extended to the student cohort. The average monthly stipend for the batch was recorded at INR 1.75 lakh, reflecting the competitive nature of the opportunities provided.

Key Placement Highlights and Industry Trends

The data from the 2026-28 placement cycle highlights robust performance for top-tier candidates. The highest monthly stipend offered during the process reached INR 3.50 lakh. Furthermore, the top 10% of the participating students secured an average monthly stipend of INR 2.58 lakh, while the top 20% achieved an average of INR 2.39 lakh. A total of 587 students participated in this year's summer internship drive.

The recruitment landscape was dominated by roles in sectors such as consulting, FMCG, technology, media, and e-commerce. Several prominent companies participated in the drive, including Accenture, Amazon, Reliance, ITC, Bain & Company, Mahindra, Bajaj Auto, Boston Consulting Group, EY-Parthenon, PwC, and the Aditya Birla Group. This diverse range of recruiters underscores the continued demand for management talent from the institution.

Admission Updates for Prospective Students

While the internship process for the current batch has concluded, the institution is currently managing the admission cycle for future candidates. Applications for the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) are currently being accepted. Interested candidates looking to pursue MBA or PGDM programmes at XLRI Jamshedpur have until December 3, 2026, to submit their applications for the upcoming entrance examination.
