The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has officially commenced the choice filling process for the second round of NEET MDS 2026 counselling. Candidates participating in the admission process for 50% All India Quota (AIQ) postgraduate dental seats, as well as 100% of seats in deemed and central universities, can now log in to the official website to submit their college preferences.

This phase of the counselling process is critical for students seeking admission to postgraduate dental programs for the 2026 academic year. Alongside the initiation of choice filling, the MCC has announced an expansion of the seat matrix, incorporating 53 newly added seats into the round 2 allocation pool. This update is intended to provide more opportunities for candidates to secure their preferred institutions.

Key Deadlines and Seat Availability Details

Candidates must adhere to the specific timelines set by the MCC to ensure their participation in the second round. The registration window for round 2 remains open until September 19, 2026, with the deadline set for 3:00 PM. Following registration, the choice filling and locking facility will continue to be available until 10:00 AM on September 21, 2026.

In addition to the 53 newly introduced seats, the MCC has released comprehensive data regarding the current seat availability. The vacancy report for the second round includes 762 virtual vacancies and 460 clear vacancies. These figures are essential for students to review when determining their college preferences during the online locking process. Candidates are encouraged to consult the official clear and virtual vacancy lists provided on the MCC portal to make informed decisions before the September 21 deadline.

Guidelines for the Choice Filling Process

The choice filling and locking process is conducted entirely in online mode through the official MCC website. Eligible students who have completed their registration are required to log in to their accounts to select and prioritize their preferred dental colleges. It is important for candidates to finalize and lock their choices within the stipulated timeframe, as failure to do so may impact their eligibility for seat allotment in this round.

The MCC continues to manage the counselling process for 50% AIQ seats in state universities and the entirety of seats in central and deemed universities. As the process moves forward, candidates are advised to keep a close watch on the official portal for any further updates or notifications regarding the seat allotment results and subsequent counselling stages.
