The NMAT by GMAC 2026 examination window officially opens today, November 2, 2026. As the testing period begins, candidates across the country are preparing to appear for their scheduled appointments. The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) will conduct the exam over an extended window, which remains open until December 20, 2026.
With the testing phase now underway, it is critical for all registered candidates to review the official exam-day protocols. Adherence to these guidelines is essential for a smooth check-in process and to prevent any potential disqualification from the examination. All specific instructions, including reporting times and document requirements, are detailed on the official admit card and the official NMAT website.
Candidates are required to arrive at their designated test centres at least 45 minutes before their scheduled appointment time. Late arrivals will not be permitted, and failure to adhere to the reporting schedule may result in the forfeiture of the attempt and the associated exam fees. Upon arrival, candidates must undergo a mandatory identity verification process.
To gain entry to the testing hall, candidates must present a valid, original, and non-expired government-issued photo identification. Acceptable documents include a Passport, PAN Card, Voter's ID, Driver's License, or an Aadhaar Card. It is vital that the photograph on the identification document is recent and clearly identifiable. Test centre staff will deny entry if the identity cannot be verified or if there is a discrepancy between the name on the admit card and the identification document.
Once the check-in and identity verification procedures are complete, candidates will be seated at their assigned terminals. Before the exam begins, a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) will appear on the screen. Candidates are required to select the option to accept the agreement within a two-minute window. Failure to accept the NDA within this timeframe, or choosing to decline it, will result in the immediate termination of the exam session. Proctors do not have the authority to override this system, and such an occurrence will lead to a lost attempt and the forfeiture of fees.
The NMAT 2026 testing window allows candidates to take the exam up to three times. Those who wish to improve their performance may register for a retake after completing their first attempt. However, candidates must wait at least 15 days between their first attempt and any subsequent retake. For those appearing for multiple attempts, it is important to note that a new admit card must be downloaded for each specific appointment, as these become available seven days prior to each scheduled test date.
